Is there a basis for the Brigadier name here?  There are many ads in the database showing this model as the Douglas from 1946 through 1949.  It was offered in multiple gold colors, including rose.  In 1949, an ad shows it as the Ambassador, also offered in yellow, pink, and white gold.

I believe the Brigadier name came from the first Brigadier listing in the watch database, where an undated post card was used as the basis for the listing.  Even the person who posted it was uncertain about the date of the card, and it is not in the site's ad database under any date.

Perhaps the Brigadier preceded the Douglas, rather than followed it, as assumed?  Without a date for the post card, it is impossible to be sure.  All evidence to date points to the Douglas as the proper ID for this watch, unless there's more to the story than was told in this listing.
