Thank you all for your contributions and comments. It does make perfect sense that this is a 1966 as my father graduated from Yale that Spring and was immediately hired on as an engineer for General Dynamics Electric Boat Division in Groton, Connecticut designing submarines. He once told me many years ago that he bought this watch as a graduation gift to himself when he got his first paycheck. I wasn't sure of the watch's build year however, as it would have been possible that the jeweler had a 1965 in stock when he bought it. The only evidence I had that this might be a 1965 were a couple of photographs that I came across when researching 1965 & 1966 images for "1960's vintage Accutron Spaceview watches" on Google. I found 2 exact matches for the crystal on my dad's watch (there were several variations attributed to those years) and both were labeled as 1965 models. There was no supporting documentation or photographs of the backs however, so the owners of those watches may have been mistaken.
