Welcome to myBulova and thank you for sharing your watch with us. The Her Excellency line was very popular in the 1940s going into the early 1950s. They all have 21 jewel movements and were nicely made and all have a similar shape to the case with variations. The "K" is what we call a variant which is specific to this model within the Her Excellency line. Your watch is very nice and I think the band goes well with it.
