What a beautiful watch. The hand engraved dial and case are fantastic. Solid gold case as well. What an amazing family heirloom.
I agree with Alex with a date of 1922/23 due to the later shield logo. These are hard to pin down to an exact year, but I'd be happy to go with 1922. We have some evidence that these early models were part of the general Lady Maxim line, but more advert evidence is really needed to confirm.
The case being solid gold also makes it difficult to place in order of other standard serial numbers, which sometimes helps narrow down a year.
