Stu you most certainly see he cherished and wore this watch for a long time. Congrats on receiving it. This looks to be a transitional 1949 Bulova His Excellency. I base this on the 1949 serial number on the case and 1948 dated movement. Also the 10KT vs 14KT gold filled variance to the ad and lack of stainless back doesn't make it a perfect match but I am confident we have this one ID'd correctly.
