Possibly the base metal is also white and blends in with the Gold fill?
The large section around the movement is base metal, possibly steel. The shell of the case should be Gold Fill, filing a small section away might reveal nothing, especially if the two metals are close in colour; you'd have to test the underlying metal.
Regardess, it is a very nice piece in v. good condition, too bad the advert fails to mention the name.
