A couple of close matches in these ads for the Reed (ref#1089) and Lord Springfield 'A' (ref#1089). The ad's larger trilons had me thinking the dial was not a match, but I think they are the same. Not sure the difference between the two models. They share the same price and reference number (through 1958, at least), with ads around the same time in the early 50s.
Also, this style of display box did not appear until around 1955, so may not be original to a 1953 watch.
