Good evening Bulova fans,
I bought this Bulova online, I think it's a Bulova 1929 Buckingham, I just received and didn't take the time for open the case yet.
The watch is working ( second / min / hour ), I don't know if the bracelet is the original ( the buckle is not), looks similar to the one on the Bulova advert for this model.
I added few pictures of the watch.
I wish you a merry Christmas !
Best Regards

In your photo, it appears that the numbers have a ridge where they meet the black of the dial, like they (numbers) are slightly raised from the dial surface with the black filled in around them. Is this the case, or are the numbers lower than the applied black, or smooth with the black surface?

Thanks, that's what I suspected, as I'm not aware of any examples that have this number font series as raised numbers, only enamel based paint on the dial.
Someone's done a decent job of painting then gold and the surrounding area black.
I think it makes the dial pop and gives the watch as a whole a great appearance, despite not being original to the watch.
1929 Bulova Buckingham.

Curious. By this photo, the dial most likely is a reworked (by hand vs. screen printed) original that was lumed. The decorative track around the center square is visible under the applied black finish. The numbers are a mystery. My best guess based on this new pic and your description is the dial was painted black over the original and then the lume then removed, leaving the black underlay that can be seen as raised under the dial finish . Does the golden color look like the numbers on this one where the lume is chipped away?
