I saved this watch of my fathers that is in rough shape. Ultimately I would like to get it working and restore it, but I am worried about the cost.
i would value it for someone to point me to a reputable Canadian watch restoration campany.
i would also like to buy a battery for it so I can check out if it even works myself. It has a W2 battery.
I have not been able to locate a match to the watch in our ads/docs, but this looks to be a Swiss made model.
This case uses crystal 316AW, and a chapter ring to fill in that outer exposed space, similar to this watch. Notice that pin/notch to the right of the 3:00 marker; that would guide and hold the chapter ring in the correct position. Finding the correct chapter ring could be a challenge.
The dial seems to have been altered, as it looks to be the bare metal finish showing.
The only reference I can find is to model 21263, but I do not find any images to show what that model looks like.

Thanks for your comments. I haven't been able to locate it either. Glad it wasn't just me. It does say Swiss made on it. Thanks for noticing that there would normally be a chapter ring. I had no idea. When I think of seeing it on my dads wrist, I sure don't recall the chapter ring, but I could easily be forgetting.
Truth is I am the one that altered the dial. the finish was in horrible condition and I attempted to clean it. I've made worse mistakes, but I won't share them here.
Newbie question here. The fact that pictures of this model can't be found....does that make it rare?

I doubt it is rare; more that it being a Swiss/European model and our lack of model information or ads from outside of America makes it hard to identify many of these.
This case (or very similar) was also used with Spaceview models, so that is one option to go with and omit the current dial. I've no idea the requirements for that type of conversion.
This is probably going to be a tough project. it appears to me the dial had the original finish removed. It also seems to be missing a out crystal bezel ring or something on the top. You will probably need to find another donor case. Sorry but I do not know of any Canadian watch makers.

I appreciate that you took the time to comment. I am new to this. Since I have some time on my hands as a result of covid, I thought I would start exploring the world of watch refinishing. The original finish was removed by myself. Probably a big mistake but the original was in very bad shape anyway.
Hello Douglas, welcome to myBulova. Without the whole kit is it difficult to nail down the correct ID so it's likely we'll associate it to our data base as a 1967 Bulova Accutron with no further variant designation. Having an heirloom from your father, especially something as personal as a wrist watch is a wonderful thing, congratulations.
While I don't know any Accutron watchmakers in Canada I would suggest looking over the border anyway, at least to get a price. the dial can be refinished (don't beat yourself up too bad) and it's possible you can find someone with the chapter ring you need, it's worth a try I think. Head to google and search for "Accutron Repair" what have you got to lose?
