Its been a while but I bought another Accutron Spaceview.

Would love to learn more and double check (Im pretty sure) its an original spaceview. It has been completely restored about 4 years ago.

I have been wearing this one as my daily watch and its such a conversation starter.

I will probably be criticized for what I am going to say but are you experts Sure it's correct? Are all spaceview Chrystal's same in a given year? The reason I ask these qúestions is that I have a 1967 Assymetrical Accutron Spaceview that was bought locally at Kay Jewelers by family and I'm 99.9 percent sure that it is all original, however the word "ACCUTRON" Is below the 12( which looks better as if the factory knew this) AND has no chapter ring AND I have seen conversion kits online and they have chapter rings in kit. Pleaserestore my faith in you and tell me different models came from factory with different crystals

Hello Jodaman and welcome to mybulova. Some variants had chapter rings, some did not. Some had "Accutron" below 12 position, some had it on lower left quadrant, like this one. Some models had indices on the crystal. 

I have just inserted a period ad above picturing this watch configured exactly as subject watch. Please see comment by Geoff Baker and Astronaut M2 on previous page regarding conversions.

Thanks, feel better now, I hàve wanted to post my watch. But have put off because I saw they prefer a photo w/ back off. I laid watch and removal tool on desk and it's still there.

Non-chapter ring watches can not be "converted" to a chapter ring watch, It's just not possible because both the Swiss and USA chapter ring watches have bezels that are machined to accept the chapter ring and both the Swiss and USA chapter ring bezels have locator pins to correctly index the chapter ring with the bezel and both are held in place by a armored crystal...

I read the same quote, probably from same source. Oh I forgot to compliment you on your beautiful Accutron. It really is a nice watch. I am like you, there is Soo much to say about the watch on your wrist, when you wear it.

I removed the battery hatch and battery, from mine. Then used a proper tools to remove the retainer ring. I then lifted on case back with tweezers and also by gently lifting on the set ring. The back did not lift off so I put it back together. While I had experts attention, thought I would ask. What gives? Should I forget it and post my watch with The pics I have?

The gaskets over time can retain the rear cover fairly tight sometimes and will require that a micro screwdriver be inserted under the rear cover tab at the 12 o:clock position of the bezel and gently pry up on the tab breaking the gasket seal at which point you can remove the cover, Doing so the gasket will sometimes be undamaged when removing the rear cover assuming the gasket is not too old and hasn't hardened, If it has it will probably break up when the rear cover is removed...
