This one has a 10AN 15 jewel movement with the crescent date symbol. The case is 14k RGP. I've been unable to find any ad identifying the model name. It's running fantastic but it needs a dial refinish. I've never had one of these style dials refinished. Has anyone had International do one of these type dials and were the results good?

The case engraving is a good match Jabs. But mine has wire lugs and the ribbed like section in the center of the dial.

Hmmmm Very interesting.
Well, how shall we call this watch? You will know that most of the time I go by the shape of the case. This shape is one of the oldest Bulova sold and had model number 156. Then we have one ad in 1924 where it is called Minerva and then it stops. For the ads at least because the model continues to be sold until at least 1929, which is the last year I found this shape. It was sold in a variety of dials: with stripes, with flowers etched and just plain, and various movements with or without second indicator. Versus the older 1924 model, the later models had slightly different engraving as well. They got this V shape at the top and the bottom, as you can see in the subject watch and also in the ad of the Juliana. The Juliana however was a sports model without wire lugs to put a leather strap and with a radium dial. So, in conclusion, the last name we have of this shape is Minerva with afore mentioned differences in the engraving for the subject watch. So "unknown" is maybe better.
Unknown from me, but similar shape to Julian w/o the lugs for leather. Still looking though.
It's possible the artist drawing of the Juliana is not accuracte. Its the only ladies watch of this shape and era with a sub-second hand as per the subject watch.
For now I'm tentative 1928 Bulova Juliana.
It certainly is a beautiful watch Alan, I think I'm going down the Unknown trail as well.
I've had IDC do dozens of dial for me over the years but never one like this. I guess I'd mail it in and see what they say. They're professionals, they won't do it at all if they can't do it right.

Maybe I'm too finicky but I've gotten some back from them that were very disappointing. I think we can rule out this being the Juliana. Lisa has this example of a 1927 Juliana.
