So does dial engraving. Ie there is no big flower at the bottom on subject watch like the advert shows.

I would also say to me it looks like a sheild or Omega symbol on the movement next to the main spring wheel

Thank you all for the information.  So it looks like this family heirloom is:

1925/1926 Bulova Pricilla Ladies watch, movement model TWO 2 APU, serial number 111607

14KT white Bulova Watch Company, quality gold filled,  15 jewell Swiss hand carved

6 AP Swiss movement,  manual wind,  etched dial with gold applied metal numbers

Hinged case  model number 084010 ,  saphire stem, floral etched face and case

Art Deco luxury dress style

White gold braid bracelet band  with clasp that opens to slip on

Case shape Tonneau

Original price 1926 = $50

2012 insurance replacement value = $250-$300 ?

Any corrections?

No.

That model has been discounted. Neither the case nor dial match the Pricilla model. I also believe this in 1930, the case number backs that up. Unless a clear photo of the movement is available though we really can't say what year the movement really is. But it is not a pricilla. I also think if it was 1925/26 it would have a 5P movement not a 6AP movement such as this

Yes, a couple corrections. As Gary states we are again unsure of the watch name (and never were 100 % sure of the age, although we are within a couple years).  The details on the movement are unclear in your photographs so we never established the actual movement model number. While I can't say for certain, I doubt that these cases were hand carved (engraved). The watch would not have been $50 originally as that price reflects the case presented in solid gold. As we haven't ID'd your watch, we don't have an ad to match and therefore have no original price (yet?).

Additionally, we can't give price estimates / valuations to watches, so the replacement value is not established.

I think this could be the early version of the Priscilla...it is shown in an ad in the December 15, 1925 issue of the Saturday Evening Post, page 100.  Sorry...I don't have the original ad to post, only a photocopy, but if you can find a libreary that has SEP back issues, check it out.

BobT / Rosie

Check page 2 of the thread for comparison to Priscilla.  Some differences in case pattern/engraving.

Fifth found a 1929 ad for Arlene (snippet below).  While it looks much closer, the ad is quite hard to see case engraving details.
