I know that others have also commented on this watch that may be consider for panel membership, for now until Admin decides and makes it official, I am only using the panel members as of current.

This has been a very good discussion and as Shawn said in another posted watch..."The way mybulova should work"

Remember this can always be updated if and when we find an advert showing an engraved AC with a leather band and different variant.

Nothing on mybulova is set in stone.

This is a great American Clipper "F" variant.  The only ad we have for the engraved case w/ white dial is "F" variant, so mount doesn't matter unless we find another ad indicating this combo is diff variant on leather vs bracelet.  Lot's of variants listed in Bulova model lists, just too few ads and info to indicate what constitutes the unique variant/model ID # designations.

Simply because the Watch Case is engraved is no basis for the 'F' variant designation.

If We look at the 'MINUTE MAN', 'RITE-ANGLE' and others of the same era, even the 'AMERICAN CLIPPER' itself We see the variant designations in some instances are based on the mount alone.

The fact is We don't have an ad showing the engraved Case 'AMERICAN CLIPPER' on a Leather strap as the 'F', what We do have is an ad showing the engraved Case 'AMERICAN CLIPPER' on a matching bracelet as the 'F'.

We have the non engraved Case shown on Leather and on a matching bracelet named differently variantwise in the 'AMERICAN CLIPPER' model line of this era, what makes Us think the engraved Case version will be any different?

1 Star as the 'F' if We consider all the evidence to Date.

I'd have to agree with Mark on this one. Confirmed generic, unconfirmed variant.  This little can of worms is pretty much the same as my Rite Angle I just posted. 

I will agree with all of you, it is very difficult to pick up a vintage Bulova with the original mount but we do know that mounts do come into play when getting to the variant designation.
