This M2 has been puzzling me for a while. It has the case of a Surf King CW but with a different dial. The case is stainless steel and the dial is champagne coloured with 5 minute markers. You have another copy in the database but dated 1967 overstamped on a 1962 M2 case. A google photo search revealed 2 more copies out there with the same dial so I'm fairly certain that it's not a franken. It's working well and keeping good time but unfortunately I cannot take off the back to view the movement.
Thank you for posting your watch. At first thought this looks to be an SVP variant but I could not find a dial match. Still looking.
The bezel is press fit.

Fifth is it possible to show where pressure should be applied when opening these types of cases?

I'm thinking a Bulova Surf King might also be an option. There seems to be a few variants according to this advert show the "GY"

Another example of a Surf King. Note the same style case, sub minute markers and hands.

I agree that the subject will be a 'SURF KING' variant, someday.
Thanks for all your comments and insight. I was hoping your line books might shed some light on this variant but for now I guess the general designation of "Surf King" will have to do! It's a very stylish watch and works well with tne green lizard strap I added.
