Watch Description

I would like to submit what I believe is a (currently not found in the database) 1924 Bulova 4551 which shows up in a 1924 database ad. I found this many years ago and pretty much forgot about it. I remember thinking old Ambassador or Diplomat but recently reviewed the earlier ads.

Nice match. Unfortunately, the numbers in this advert are not official Bulova model numbers but numbers used to assign items in a shopping catalog for the purposes of ordering by mail.

Your watch is one or Bulova's earliest men's wrist watches and very rare, especially with the Swiss made case.

At this stage I would ID as a 1924 Bulova Unknown.

Thank you for that information. I didn't realize that about the number ordering.  I'm still happy to have found such an early model like this.

It is great to know that your watch was something that Bulova actually sold.

Very unusual case markings.   Definitely an unknown for me.

Just to double check: can you confirm the letters inside the beehive? Thanks!
