Watch Description

This is the Bulova Accutron Dual Date watch my father was given when he retired.   The watch runs fine. I had the battery replaced before I found this site. I haven't been able to take the back off to check the inside for a serial number.  There is no serial number on the outside of the back.   The manufactures inscription on the back are:  Top:  Bulova N8  -  Left: Water Resistant  -  Bottom: Base Metal Bezel  -  Right: 10 K.T.  R.G.P. Back.  The watch is runs fine.   I had the batter replaced before I found this site.

Congrats on a wonderful keepsake from your father, it's a very special watch. Bulova stopped using proper names for most of the watches they produced in the mid 70's. and only used model and reference numbers. I've searched through the line catalogs we have from 1977-1979 but don't find this exact model. In keeping with the markings we do see I suggest we name it "1978 Bulova Accutron Quartz Date and Day".

Agreed. 1978 Bulova Accutron Quartz Date and Day.

I've not been able to find any confirming advert showing model reference.

I forgot to put in my original post that the band is a  Speidel Twist-O-Flex.

The "Twist-O-Flex" was an aftermarket watch band that was ALL the rage at the time. The marketing grip was that it twisted and was WAY more comfortable than the conventional bands of the day. You could tie it in a knot.....

I could not find a model match.   1978 Bulova Accutron Quartz Date and Day is the best assignment.

3732 will be the case style model number and not the official model number of the watch. The 3732 is used as a reference for case parts only.

Where would the model number be?

The only other marking on the inside of the back is the battery type and there was nothing marked on the movement.

Bulova didn't put model numbers on their watches.  3732 is the case number as previously stated and leads to references in the parts catalog.
