This watch was purchased as a Watertight model. I was unable to identify any date code on either the movement or the watch case back. It does have a 51 between the Bulova logo and the case serial number inside the case back. I presume this is the year of manufacture of the case and the watch since this matches up with the date range OF 1942 to 1954 for the 17 jewel 10BCC movement. The case itself appears to be stainless steel. The hands are luminous as are the numbers as well as the dots in the arrow markers on the dial. I have no idea as to any redialing or replacement case.
I see L1 on the movement so the date is correct for 1951. It looks like a Watertite to me but I cannot find an exact match to the dial. I know I have seen it before. I will keep looking.
I think it's the same as this one: Bulova 1951 Watertite | myBulova.com

I knew I saw this model before. Now we can confirm it is a factory model. I suspect a variant of the Watertite but no clear ad confirmation. 1951 Unknown.
