Gold colored manual watch with a white, hexagon face and a spring Speidel band. The face is white with stylized Arabic numbers and says Bulova above the hands. It says Swiss under number 6. There is a gold bar above and below the top and bottom points of the face that connects to the band. The band has a diagonal hatched texture around most of it except for the center 5 segments which are bold parallel lines. The face has a raised, plastic cover. Winder features a black enamel or stone with radial lines in the gold metal.
By this time Bulova had dropped most model names in place of a model number. There may be some logic to the numbering, but we have yet to find out what that is, other than the 'Y' meant yellow and the 'W' white.
Your watch is a 1979 Bulova Model #62256-3Y

That's cool! I've spent the last week doing research and looking but hadn't found anything quite like it, but I'm new to the Bulova Universe. Would you say the band I have is a replacement or upgrade?
Great watch and good ad match!

Original equipment band from Bulova would have been leather/lizard as shown in the Linebook.

Thanks for the info!
I agree with Neet, leather straps, especialy those on watches that are worn for yeras, often tend to be replaced with a metal expansion like the one on yours.
