Can someone advise what the exact model is? or is Quartz the model.
At this time Bulova were giving their watches numbers instead of names, kind of "back to their roots".
Date marks N8 on back give us a date of 1978.
The date code sure does look like N8, and bobbee is right, most watches from the mid to late 70's had a model number instead of a name, seems that they were producing so many different styles tha they couldn't keep up with names.
For now, I would call this a 1978 Bulova Quartz...maybe contacting Bulova would get you more info?
You are both right I've taken a closer look and it is indeed N8.
My vote for now is 1978 Bulova Quartz
Sorry boys, but I won't vote on this one unless an add comes to light. My experiences and knowledge are mostly pre 60's though I am picking up on the 60's. I've got a thing about quartz watches as it was a quartz that drove me nuts and made me look at vintage mechanicals so many years back. I'll never buy a quartz watch again in my lifetime even if it is a vintage Bulova. Again, Sorry but I have to pass on this one.
PS. pdl, It is still a cool looking watch, just wish it was an autowinder.
I wish it was an autowinder too. But in the days of mobile phones and many people who don't even wear watches it's a great watch to wear especially when you tell the same people it is 30 plus years old. It feel so solid and sits on the wrist very nicely.
One day I will own an auto winder :)
'Quartz' would be my vote - unless the catalog number is on the dial, then I would want to see that used.
ditto to Geoff's comments above.
