I am interested in any info (model, movt etc) that the panel might know
I'm not having any luck with this one. Photos of the movement and inside case back would be of great help.
Your watch is right at the end of the era in which we can accurately ID watches made by Bulova. By this time Bulova wasn't giving watches proper names, only 'model' numbers. I cannot find anything in our adverts and catalog books that matches your watch either. For now I can only suggest it is a 1978 Bulova Unknown model.
Thanks for your consideration. We have no jewellers in our community but next time I am in Thunder Bay I’ll try to get someone to open it and get a picture of the inner workings. I do remember purchasing it in the Summer of 1978. It was an impulse purchase and a watch that I have always worn and enjoyed.
I am fairly certain this falls in the Bulova Classic line from 1978 as shown in this 1978 ad. Mesh bracelet and stick minimalist markers. I could not find a model number for this one.

Found a linkbook match in a 1980 edition I also have, that may have contained previous years.
No name just the model number: 1978 Bulova Model "02961-1Y" .... or is it "27000"

Well found, Stephen. It looks like a match to me.
1978 Bulova Model "02961-1Y"
good match, go with the 02961 as model number.
Likely houses a very simple Swiss movement.
yep - there it is - 1978 Bulova Model 02961-1Y
Thanks to all for the info. I have another interesting watch that was a gift from my parents - the 1978 Bulova Snorkel that I have worn daily for many years.
Great job in finding the model number. 1978 Bulova Model 02961-1Y
