Watch Description

My second Bulova, this time a 1973 Accutron.  Recently acquired via eBay, this watch was not working despite a battery change. However I found a watchmaker here in the UK who soon had it working again - apparently there was a contact issue. It's now humming nicely and keeping good time.

Looking at the 1972 catalog, this looks very much like model 21518-6W, Accutron Date and Day "BC", though on mine the name "Bulova Accutron" is at the top.

Could be a dial refinish.

It doesn't look that way, but I'm new to Bulovas so you may be right.

I'd say you found the correct model; Accutron Date and Day 'BC'.

I don't think having 'Bulova Accutron' on your dial is a concern, as this dial configuration can be seen in 1973 ads on some other Accutron models.

Very nice example that you picked up, looks like the original band!

Yes, I think it is - it has the Bulova logo on the buckle clasp.  It seems to be specific to this model, as the band is integral.

$185 in 1973 was pretty pricey - I make it just under $1,000 in today's money, allowing for inflation.

Hello willie_gunn, welcome back. I'd say this is a very nice Accutron watch.
