This Bulova 218 (?) gold-toned watch was bought by my father in either Derry or Portrush, Northern Ireland, in approx 1970.
It was later adapted to take a more modern battery.
It has just been serviced in October 2019, is worn daily and is fully functional.
(I have not seen the movement number etc but will add later).
Any information about this watch would be much appreciated.
Hi Cee Jay and welcome to myBulova! What a wonderful heirloom to have from your father. And it is really nice that you have had it serviced so you can enjoy it.
I would say it looks like an Accutron Date & Date like this one https://www.mybulova.com/watches/1969-accutron-date-day-9859 but not the 18K version. I will keep looking for the model that matches yours.

Hi Kathy,
Really appreciate your help - it was serviced so I can wear it all the time! I haven't seen another yet with the gold tone face matching the case.
I'll add the case number/ movement etc when I can get to a good jewellers.
yet it will be 1970 Bulova Accutron Date & Day
Have access to some new line books shortly, so can hopefully give this a variant to the Accutron Date & Day.
Closest model variant I can find is the Accutron Date and Day "AX" with stainless steel back.

Thank you - appreciate your help
I've since found out it cost £80 (Sterling) in the early 1970s - about two to four week's pay in those days.
Fascinating to find out more, thank you again to everyone for the information
