Hello everybody and thanks for letting me join the forum. I have this Bulova Accutron, it should be solid gold, did not open the back, the codes I can see are:
3 - symbol I cannot recognize - 115902 - N0, so I believe this was made in 1970. on the top, after Bulova, I can see the number 1 but cannot recognize anything else really.
I would be grateful if you could give me some insight about the model and perhaps suggest any third party for an evaluation in Europe?
Thanks in advance.
Got the printing under Bulova on the back, 18KT
That is a pretty cool watch for 1970. These higher grade solid gold's a lot of time didn't have this massive advertising push. I feel they were more of an exclusive sale.
The 4 screw caseback is definately unusual.

Thank you, my mum bought it for my dad when they got engaged I beleive...he gave it to me a month ago 🥹
Very nice heirloom watch. Based on case s/n starting with a "3 - " I suspect it was assembled either in Switzerland or Asia for the European market. We don't have much info on said watches, which makes a positive ID difficult. My best guess would be the country of origin is stamped on the inside of the case back.
The best I can do is place it in a category
1970 Accutron Day Date
and a real beauty!

Thanks for your lovely comment,
It was sold in Italy. I ll open the back sooner or later, I think it needs a service, I cannot adjust the day of the week, only the number.
When I know more I ll report back.
Thanks again,
A.
Thank you for sharing your lovely heirloom with us. I agree it is most likely an international model.

Thanks for checking it Kathy, much appreciated 🙂
A wonderful keepsake for you Alberto - a father's watch is a special thing to possess. I wish I could advise for a Accutron watchmaker in Europe but I cannot.

Thanks very much for reviewing Geoff 🙂
Hello lovely people,
The watch stopped, I believe the battery needs to be changed
Would you say is this something I can do by myself, I just unscrew and open the back?
Any suggestions on the battery model?
Thank you very much in advance.
