Watch Description

Here is one just like this one https://mybulova.com/watches/1969-sea-king-12307.  This watch is identical except it does not have Sea King on the dial.   1969 Bulova Sea King (no variant).  It has a very nice stainless case with angular lugs and as you can see on my example the orignal bracelet fits very snug and flush with the case.   The case back is stainless and marked M9.   The dial is a medium gray with a black day wheel.  THe movement is an 11ANACB and based on my pictures looks like M3 but I think it is an M9 but cut off.   The bracelet is orignal with a Bulova marked Clasp.

That looks like a good match to me.  I looked in the linebooks and was amazed how many Sky Kings there were!  It actually looks like a 9 to my eyes.

There's a part of me that thinks this might be from the Golden Clipper  or Clipper series. My reasoning has to do with the Date & Day feature. Did Sea Kings have that feature? Looking at all the Sea Kings we have recorded not one has the Date & Day feature and I could not find any in the linebooks for this period either. I did however find similar watches in the Golden Clipper range. The Golden Clipper range also sports the whale logo and is houses a 17J movement....and has the gold tone movement.

I also feel this is either a Clipper or Golden Clipper due to the day/date; but I cannot find this dial in this particular case; Clipper AF is close.

Additionally, the linebooks (#173 for one) do show Clipper models with 'Sea King' on the dial.

That would be my call as we never really established the ID with a matching advert.

I agree.   There are close matches to Golden Clipper but no ad confirmation.

Ok so this raises an interesting question. I missed that the other reference watch actually has 'Sea King' on the dial https://mybulova.com/node/12307.

They both look to be identical except for the 'Sea King' on the dial.

Thoughts on this....I'm stumped as I've not been able to find any SK with a date and day function.

Although have we not seen linebook entries that list Clippers with the 'Sea King' text on the dial....I'll have to try and fins an example.
