Watch Description

I purchased this Accutron new in 1969 and purchased the gold band in 1971 from Corrigans in Dallas, Texas. The tuning fork hums perfectly and it keeps good time. The gold content is 54 grams and was valued at $985 in August, 2013. Contact me for additional information and photos. jcw77@me.com

It would be helpful to have the movement number and serial number and any information on the inside of the case back.

Can you please update your photos so we can see the details of your watch. This will allow us to help you further.

Agreed, better pictures of the front case & dial will help, it looks to have the roman numerals on the bezel from the picture and markers on the dial, the movement is probably a 2182 because of the stem position, most were with the day/date.

It looks like it has a date stamp under the case serial number but I can't make it out...

You would have had to purchase this later than 1959, because the Accutron didn't come out till 1960/61 and the 218 movement came out in the later 1960's...

October 1960 was the official release of the Series 214 Accutron, 1965 saw the first Series 218.

Looks like my watch is a lot better than my camera. I'll try for better pictures and I'll ask a jeweler to open the back for another photo. Old Ticker says he sees something under the case serial number. It actually says, "MD" and below that is "14 KT. GOLD CASE".

Could it actually be M0 which would indicate 1960.

Accutron Date & Day as a start. Now to search for the variant.

It is a 218 movement so 1960 is out, maybe 1968 M8, also the "Accutron" to the left side of the dial was common on the later 60's watches.

Its a Day/Date, but unknown year & variant so far...

Jay - is it possible to get a close in photo of the back of this beauty? It could help us nail it down a bit further.

This evening I will try to post photos that I took of the movement (stamped U.S.A. Bulova 2182) , the back, and the inside of the back of the case which has several legable markings and numbers.
