I picked up this 1968 M8 Bulova Accutron with a nice roman hour marker dial. The movement is 214. I put a battery in and it is not working and I hear no humming. Bummer.
Good news. After hearing the battery rattle in the case I reviewewed a few websites and found a mention of the cap spring being pushed in. Sure enough I pulled it out and it popped up. She immediately started running when I replaced the battery cap. I put a new crystal on it. Very happy. BTW I failed to mention the yellow gold faceted applied hour markers adds a beautiful contrast to the dial
