Thank you for the great information. I do agree that the description and image does look like a match. You are correct that my watch is not automatic and does require winding.
After getting your information I checked your site for Sea King "AM" and found this 1968 version (see image below). Which is also identical to my eyes. A few questions:
- I assume it is normal for the same model to be issued in different subsequent years and the only way to distinguish the year is by the "M7" vs "M8". Is this correct?
- what does the "AM" mean?

Yes that is correct that we go by the datecode on the case. The "AM" is just an assigned variant of that watch. A variant just means there is more than one watch assigned to the model with slight differences. The differences can be a multitude of things depending on the decade and model etc. It could be dial color or band differences etc within the model.
