Watch Description

10k yellow gold, leaf design with two flowers - each with a ruby color stone in the center. I bought this years ago because I loved it and I wear it as a pendant. The band was very damaged and was a black cord style band.

What a unique piece. Chances are this is a custom piece and not something produced by Bulova as a whole, but certainly the main body of the watch is from a Bulova watch.

We might be able to narrow down what model the watch started out at, but other than to say the watch looks to date from around 1965.

The interesting part (other than the amazing bezel) is that the back case is stamped 10K GOLD. I don't think I've ever seen that before.

Curious what others think of this amazing piece.

It may have started out as a Dewdrop model. This line had several 10K solid gold models in 1965-67.

This has all signs of being a custom made piece and a very beautiful one! I agree to focus on identifying the original watch. I leave that to the experts of this era.

Being a jeweler modified watch I am inclined to go with non-conforming.

Taking Kens lead I looked at the Dewdrops in the 1965 linebook and found what could be a match to the Dewdrop "Q".

1965 Bulova Dewdrop "Q" & "R"

However, based on the custom casing, non-conforming seems appropriate.

I think Non-Conforming is also the best. Sandi- this is a category we select when a watch has either been pieced together using parts from several other watches, or as in the case of your little beauty, it has been substantially modified. Know that the corded band can easily be replaced and it can be worn once again as a wrist watch. Thank you for sharing it.

Thank you so much, everyone. I love this watch and have had it for a while. Knowing that it is a custom piece makes me like it even more. I really like wearing it as a pendant (I know not the norm, it looks great), but I think I’ll now look for a replacement band.
