One of my favorites from the original Bulova 30 series. Stainless body with a yellow gold plated bezel ring. I now have 3 of these...couldn't help myself. It's a sickness. I had always assumed this 2 tone "champagne proof" model was discontinued in 1960 or 61. This one is dated 1962 and has a 6 digit serial number. Under magnification, it almost looks like the s/n and date stamp were double stamped. Odd, the numbers are stamped at different depths and it appears it may have had the s/n changed..
In any event, I'm going to call this one a
1962 Bulova 30 "AW".

So whilst the linebook states yellow, am I to assume only the top bezel is yellow and the rest of the case it white or stainless steeel?

Yes, it's a Stainless Steel one piece top loader with a removable yellow gold plate bezel ring to access the movement.
1962 Bulova 30 AW is a good match
