1962 Accutron Astronaut 2 Gen
There was a 1962 Astronaut on ebay yesterday but almost no one saw it because it was in a lot of Accutron parts and equipment and the lot sold for $405...

Someone had changed the hands but that dial is unmistakable !
I read online that the battery that was used with the Astronaut watch’s are no longer made. How are you powering these watches today ? The same article said today’s batteries will harm the old Accutron movement.

It is true that the batteries they used back before mercury-based batteries were outlawed were 1.35 volt batteries and now a days the battery voltage for the newer silver oxide is slightly higher at 1.55 volts BUT Accutron 214 movements were designed to safely handle battery voltage as high as 2.10 with no damage to the movement, The higher voltage causes the fork to run with a higher amplitude (the fork tines swing wider) the only thing that is needed in MOST cases is for the indexing to be phased adjusted for the higher voltage...
