Hi new to collecting Bulova and trying to identy this one. Can't seem to find it on the site. Can't find date code only 61. Does not look like L9?. Seems you have to enter one as no unknown as an option ??? so picked 1961 Is this an Amy medical watch as has a cross symbol on face? Is this a female watch due to size?? Many thanks for any info
Regards Lance
Interesting watch, thanks for sharing. This one is a puzzler. The face, hands and case don't match any verified examples that I can find. The movement is one that was used primarily in military watches and Train Timers. It's interesting that the movement doesn't appear to have an import 3 letter stamp on it. I suspect this is an aftermarket case/face housing a re-purposed Bulova movement. I am going to say the movement date stamp is "L9" for 1959. Hands may have been a newer repair as they look much later than the movement and case. I'm currently of the opinion that this is a skillful marriage of parts, making the watch fall into the classification of
"Non-conforming"
I may be wrong, but that's my initial take at this point, still looking.
