1960 American Eagle - Silver dial, some pitting. Variant with hooded lugs. 10K Yellow RGP bezel and stainless back. Case back stamped M0. No stamp or service marks inside case back. 11AF movement with KIF Flector shock springs.
I love these jet-age Bulova watches! This is the American Eagle variant with hooded lugs on the bottom edge of the case. It was not running when I got it, the dial is pitted, and the crystal needs to be replaced, all of which meant I got a good deal. I serviced it and got it running again, lots of dirt and green crud clogging up the movement. People say that you shouldn't run an old watch like this before it's been serviced and they are right!

Thanks! There are plenty of these in the database so I'm glad you appreciate having another one around. Interesting how the hooded lug version seems to be more prevalent. And that ad, wow! The expansion band looks amazing and it even has curved ends. Mine came with a brown leather band that I actually like but I definitely would like to try the metal band. I'm waiting for the new crystal to arrive and then I can continue with this project.
Agree with American Eagle

Love the unique case shape on this one.

Here's the movement after being serviced. I bought it in non-running condition and the movement was clogged with debris that had entered the case through the winding stem hole. The original picture I posted was the movement as I had received it. What a difference!
No doubt,

and a nice one.
Finall! I installed the new crystal and cleaned up the dial very lightly. I used a nail buffer to shape the sides of the crystal until it fit the case, then used Polywatch to polish out the scratches I had made to the sides. It looks great now that it's back together, much better than the photo, but now I'm afraid to wear it! The next step is to find a suitable expansion band but I have a few other projects to keep me busy for now. Thanks to the panel for sharing your information and expertise with me.
Confirming model name and variant from 1960 Linebook BAWD0139. Assume bracelet was replaced with a leather strap.
