It's the first time I've seen this ind of case back engraving. US Zone Germany...would that we West Germany or a section of it?

US Zone was a part of what became West Germany. The 10 yr occupation officially ended by proclamation in I think May, 1955, but here we see a watch case dated 1958. It's a complicated subject, best to Google it for an understanding.
