Possibly a Carlton. If you need further info or photos, please contact. This was my fathers watch. 10K Gold Filled Inside workings say 2 POS, 5 ADJ, L7 Bulova, 21 Jewel and USA. Inside back case says Bulova, 5th Avenue, New York
As we're unsure of the worth, please just make a reasonable offer.
The Carlton design is very unique; certainly available in 1957...nice example
A great family heirloom with great lugs! Congrats on having such a unique keepsake watch from your Dad.
1957 Bulova Carlton
1957 Bulova Carlton, congrats on a nice heirloom from your father
Very nice watch from your father. 1957 Bulova Carlton. Here is a Dec 1956 ad.

Thank you all for your input. Its greatly appreciated!
I've got two questions however. L7 is 1957, but Im unable to find one anywhere from that year. Also, what would the rectangle on the works mean with the initials BAC in it. I can't find that anywhere either.
And can you tell me if I can have the crystal case smoothed out? There's at least one scratch thats noticible. I'd like to have that fixed.

My apologies for the typo. It should be 8AC.

Some scratches can be polished out, some can't. If you plan to wear the watch you should have it professionally serviced. The watchmaker would be able to source a new crystal if it can't be polished.
Not sure I understand what you're looking for from 1957? 8AC is the movement model number.

In regards to your question about year: Yours is the first dated 1957 that has been submitted for identification, and therefore the only one listed on mybulova at this point in time.
If the crystal is acrylic, there is a good chance of polishing out scratches. If it is glass, it will be difficult.
