Been hoping for one of these since I first saw the other one in the datavase. Iformation is based on the other one in regards to year of manufacture and movement type because this one seems to be unmoleasted and the seal between the crystal and the back is in tact and I didn't want to damage it without a replacement. (Replacement would be nice if anyone can help me with it) - 1956 Albatross - I was able to clean the external parts but didn't want to disturb the crystal and movement seal. It is running so far and keeping good time for now but will need a service one I can find a crystal and gasket. The locks that hold the back and movent in place are just the coolest thing in the world. The hands don't exactly match the ad as the other one in the database don't either, but both this one and that one also have different hands so maybe there is another year of production ???
I have one similar to this, a lot of companies were trying the same thing, so there are versions by other manufacturers.
This looks like a dead match for the other one in the db, so I'm going to say 1956 Albatross.
A lot of these specialty cases don't follow Bulova norms. Do let us know when you have a look inside and some pics, if possible.
I hate to take it apart without at least a replacement gasket. I'll keep looking for one and update as soon as possible but I have al the confidence that it is a Bulova case, even the serial numbers on the back of both are close enough together to make be believe it is a real Bulova. Only 857 numbers between the 2
OK, I took a chance and was able to get the crystal and gasket off in 1 piece, but without knowing how to flip the movement over and get the stem screw out all I could do is get a partial photo of the inside of the back. It IS absolutely a Bulova case with an L6 date code.
