Watch Description

I was quite pleased to find this one. It is only the second we have ever ID'd, and both are dated 1955 and back marked as State Farm Insurance Awards. Included below are pages from a company power point presentation folder for the contest; noting the "Grand Prize" for sales was this watch. Based on the required number of policy application submissions needed to qualify, I would say there aren't many of these around. The information on the back appears factory stamped, as opposed to engraved.

Face has mottling, some crystal crazing and the hour hand is a replacement, but case is super clean and it keeps time..

You could also win a Dolly Madison for your wife!

That's pretty cool. I don't see this model in the linebooks or the pricelists; special order perhaps.

Cool ads!  Yes possibly company special order.

It is curious why this model isn't shown in any linebooks, even if it was a special order model which I think is likely the case considering it's name.

It's amazing you manage to find those old school presentation cards.

I found it interesting that the original ad snippet Ken uploaded on 2019 to the only other submission of this model had the reference "Special #9001" next to it, and "Medal Of Honor" in quotation marks. Note that the included "free expansion band" shown in the newsprint ad matches the one shown in the portfolio illustration.

Ken, do you remember where you found the ad or if there was more info in the whole original? Does this refer to a specific special order award watch, I wonder?

The Operation Flagship portfolio was a real deep internet dig lasting several hours over several days. It is 24 pages in a ring binder explaining the State Farm employee sales promotion and listing the 2 watches and trophies awarded for different levels of performance. It almost appears you had to sign up to participate at different levels for specific prizes.

Well, I'm at a loss as to where I found that ad. I do not see it in my saved ads. I also do not find it off-site anywhere. When I had access to Newspapers.com I would search it and save copies (sometimes just a snippet), so maybe I saw it there and only saved a part of the ad.
