This watch is in excellent condition. Includes display case and storage box (although I wonder if these might not be the correct time period) also includes Bulova polishing cloth and period Flex-Let bracelet.

Hrmmm... close as I can get it... 1950 ad.

I'd agree.
Not all of the Excellency's displayed the namesake...although, Geoff's unknown appears to have an 'X' Dial.
Yet another Academy Award "ZZ"/
IMO.
Yep, it doesn't have the right dial even with the missing Exellency's signature. Seconds trak is different. I would have to agree with Bobbee, looks like another AA "ZZ" IMO
Would like to see pics of the case back and movement. Isn't '55 a little late for an AA?

Why, Darren?
EDIT:- Yes sorry Darren, should look before I leap! 1949 for four years, possibly into 1954. But is the watch 1955?
I doubt We should see an 'AA' advertised as such post 1952. Mr Bakers 1953 is a perfect example -
http://www.mybulova.com/watches/1953-his-excellency-1756
note the box: similar to, but no mention of the Academy anywhere and 100% correct for 1953
I refuse to get into the old argument about AA dates, but Bulova had rights to make them until at least 1953 according to their 4 year contract from 1949.
Just because the box looks right doesn't mean it is the box the watch came in, unless you are the person who bought it originally.
EDIT:- E ven the owner expresses his doubts as to the veracity of the packaging. It also has the correct case and "shadow" dial, and we have nothing for this case post 1951 in the ads, and that is for the AA "ZZ".
The above watch you posted Mark is an exact match to this ad dated 1951, the last reference to this case style.
