I strongly believe that´s an American Clipper.

A couple of close matches in these ads for the Reed (ref#1089) and Lord Springfield 'A' (ref#1089). The ad's larger trilons had me thinking the dial was not a match, but I think they are the same. Not sure the difference between the two models. They share the same price and reference number (through 1958, at least), with ads around the same time in the early 50s.

Also, this style of display box did not appear until around 1955, so may not be original to a 1953 watch.
1955 Patent:

I think you're on to something Ken. Both ads appear to be a match. We don't have an example of either in the Db. I'd be good with either but lean towards
1953 Reed
Could we be seeing the same watch with different names for US (Reed) and Canada (Lord Chesterfield)?
Nice research Ken. I would also be ok with either and think you are probably right Bob on the US/Canada names. I would also lean towards
1953 Bulova Reed
I think you're right Ken, the ad from Watchophilia seals it for me.
1953 Bulova Reed
I am very grateful for your reserch. Here in Europe, i still have not been to find anything to identify me withe this Bulova watch.
Linebook shows this was as a discontinued 1955 Lord Springfield "A". The "B" and "C" had numbers at 2,4,8,10 and 12 with dial colours being black and white respectively.

Possible the Reed came before.

Thank you very much for your continuous research. We will then continued to call this Bulova model a "Reed" from 1953.
As for the presentation case, i am trying to find another one suitable for this model.
