1953 Nugent den001-012515 Dial,butler finish with gold applied numbers and slashes,sub dial seconds.Coffin shaped case.Back cover,bulova quality L3 AND SERIAL #.Movement marked 10BT,17 jewels,adjusted,L3.
I just noticed the one in the database has a 10BT 15 jewel unadjusted movement while mine has a 10BT 17 jewel adjusted movement. Was this watch then available with both movements?
Hey Den, I've got an "L2" Nugent here somewhere and it has a 10BT 15 jewel movement. This is a picture of it I have on the computer.

It may have also came in 17 jewels. I'll see if I can find anything on it.
I'm not seeing any 17j variants....
This would have been a very easy swap at some point, and althought there are no ads or examples with 17j yet, there is also nothing to say that it can't still be a Nugent variant. The case is certainly a Nugent, so I would go with tentative at this point..
I'm good with Tentative Nugent, as the possibility of movement swap is noted.
Bulova Nugent.

The "Nugent" in the ad appears to have the "Alpha" hands. The one Den has and the one I have are equipped with "Dauphine" hands. Could they both have the wrong hands?
'55 Merc,there's a 1952 ad on WATCHOPHILIA showing the Nugent with the dauphine hands(first 52 ad,mat service).
In reply to '55 Merc, there's a 1952 ad on by denupnorth
I see the one you're referring to Den and it does look more like the watches we have.

The three examples in the database also have the same hands so I think they're probably right. Now to find one with a 17 jewel movement.
