Purchased on a whim from the big auction site after offer was unexpectedly accepted. I was drawn in by the case engraving. Works, but needs cleaning and a new crystal.

That looks really, really close.
Mine still has the signed crown, which is always nice to see.
I wonder if it was a partial/total redial though, as it doesn't have an applied "Bulova" script.
Dial looks original and certainly could have had both raised and printed 'BULOVA' on the dial.
A 7 jewel Bulova movement is the key here. Certianly a good match for a 1953 Bulova Maxim
Bulova's use of the name 'Maxim' stems back to the very early 1920s.
I agree, this looks to be a Maxim
