Some very sweet lugs on this Ashford. The case is in pretty great shape and overall a tight watch! As per new ads and debate. Changed to the Jordan on 5/8/2012.
I'm liking this watch more and more. Especially since it's been id'd.
Is that a shark skin bands. Blue looks good, gives me ideas for my 1940 unknown lug-nut.

Yeah it's a chark skin... I took a chance with the blue... but I think it really sets off the gold tone.
At least two ads for Ashford: 1951 ad 1
1951 ad 2

second ad black and white, but notes in text "gold applied numerals"
That'sa sweet watch Plains.
JP
1953 would have that down as the "Jordan" plains, image 31, page8
.......Is there anyone there?........ Do any panel members agree or not that the above watch is possibly not the "Ashford", but could be the "Jordan" because manufacture year is stated as being 1953, the Ashford seems to have been re-named the Jordan, as supported by the adverts as stated above.
BTW, not got an axe to grind, just trying to learn!
To me it looks like the Ashford no doubt. But it also looks like the 1953 Jordan. It might be possible that it was re named 2 years later as a new watch. Just a thought.
You may be right, Bobbee. Although, I don't know if Bulova changed the model name of a watch without changing any of the details. Also, the ad may have been added since the original id of the subject watch.
