Watch Description

Worn, Bulova watch. Inside case 10k rolled gold plated bezel, stainless back, New York. Case back 3794797 Bulova (possibly L1). Watch movement 10BRC, which I have not seen, Bulova watch co. 17 jewels. Round, self winding

I've read through this 1950s self-winding book (https://mybulova.com/sites/default/files/uploaded_photos/user1/1950_BulovaSelfWinding.pdf) and it appears that these movements will wind the mainspring bi-directionally: 11AAC, 9AB, 10AU, 10AUC, 9AS, 9ASC, 10BRC, and also the 10CSC which is the evolution of these earlier models.

The oscillating weights for these will turn in both directions, and in either direction the wheels should engage to transfer movement through to the mainspring in order to wind it.

I've worked on most of them, but I do not currently have any to validate..

So as a basic rule we (the panel) have determined the Selfwinding on the dial = Thayer, and Duo-Wind = Duo-Wind.
