Shadow Dial shows appled Gilt indecees, Bulova signature and tracks are printed in Black. Hour and Minute Hands are Gilt Dauphine, pitched and a Gilt Index Seconds Hand shows on a subsiduary Dial. Snap fit Caseback is Gold and stamped as shown. as found
New 'UNKNOWN' configured identically to the 'ACADEMY AWARD' "O" variant of era, http://www.mybulova.com/watches/1952-academy-award-5176 sans the Case bezel and Dial.
I believe this Watch will eventually be identified as a part of the Series.
enjoy,
1951 'UNKNOWN'
Has a couple noteable AA characteristics, 21J 10BM, 2 tone dial. it wouldn't suprise me at all to be another AA variant.
Agreed.
The Year of Manufacture is bang on, the Case composition and markings are identical also.
The open subsiduary register is most compelling, the 'EXCELLENCY' of era registers seem to be enclosed, having a defined border.
Time will tell.
Unknown... interesting back case.
Unknown from me....
Moving to Unknown for now.
Unknown, but I'm inclined to think it's a heretofore unidentified AA variant, as mentioned.
Very distinctive case back indeed......alas Unknown too.....for now
1951 advert.
The "CALDWELL", looks to be the one.

Perfect match, dial shading, subsidiary dial, numbers, case, jewel count.
