This looks similar to the Bulova 1949 Tuxedo on this site but the case is a little different. I am interested in the year and model, and if the band would have been original or a replacement. The Speidel band is marked 10K G.F. TOPS 62. Since the watch works and I don't know how to open it, I did not get any movement photos.
Hi Dave8647, welcome to mybulova. Nice watch.
Your watch case matches this one (His Excellency)

with a case/face combination matching this one in the unknowns.

We have had several debates on this watch configuration without consensus on what they are. It appears to be a legitimate model as opposed to a jeweler "face bling", but is still an unknown due to the absence of ad documentation.
Band is a replacement. The Twist-O-Flex band didn't appear until 1959 I believe. Best guess is your watch came on brown leather.
I'm inclined to call it a tentative His Excellency if you can confirm jewel count is 21J.
Welcome to myBulova! These watches with the diamond dials are very cool, congrats.
I found two 1949 ads with your dial but a different case. These ads came from two different jewelers so they were probably models. As with yours being the second we have seen.

I will go with a tenative by the case for now until we find an ad with this dial.
1949 Bulova His Excellency (tenative case only)
dave8647, any chance of movement details. I'd like to confirm the movement jewel count, before giving an ID.
