Cloest I could find is a Bulova Violet. I'm not betting my house on it though.

It does look similar to the Violet model in that ad, but this one has a Speidel bracelet instead of a cord (which could have been changed out at some point). Is that ad from 1949 or a different year? Maybe the Violet had slight changes over the years. The dial, numeal indices and hands in the ad match the ones on my watch.

In all but a few examples the band or bracelet would not matter as they are regularly swapped out. If they design of Violet did change over the years we would have adverts showing but we just don't.  I agree that is not Violet.

HAHA - I centered on Violet yesterday and spent 45 minutes looking at all the adverts we have to prove myself brilliant. In the end I decided it did not match.  For me this watch is an Unknown model.

Yes it is similar to Violet but the lug doesn't go to a point like this one.  I didn't find a match.

The BRYN MAWR in this 1950 ad looks similar. I couldn't find another example of it posted to compare it to.

Nice ad find 1955mercury, well done!  Here are a couple more to confirm from 1950 and 1951.

Bryn Mawr was the first institution of higher learning in the United States to offer graduate instruction to women; men were first admitted to the graduate program in 1931. Under the leadership of Martha Carey Thomas (president from 1894 to 1922) the standard for the education of women rose dramatically.
