This watch belonged to my grandmother. She always said that it belonged to her mother but I cannot confirm that information. I have what looks to be the original band but it has definitely seen some better days.
Thank you for posting your watch. Based on the 47 date code on the movement this is a 1947 model. We have seen this model before and have several listed in our unknowns like this one https://mybulova.com/watches/1944-unknown-7219. Maybe one day we will find a model name for this.

I looked it up by the first 3 digits of the serial number on the back of the case and it came back with 1927-28 serial numbers?? I don't know anything about watches so I don't know. Is it possible that the movement could of been replaced? My grandmother suffered from Alzheimer's disease and would always ramble on about the watch and each time the story was different.
Going to tag this one as 1948 with a 1947 movement.
1948 Bulova Unknown. A wonderful heirloom!
Thank you for sharing your grandmother's watch with us. We don't have a name for this one yet but hopefully one of these days.
1948 Bulova Unknown
The illusive case design. One day we'll hopefully find an ID. I just spent about an hour researching new adverts but still had no luck with a match.
1948 Bulova Unknown....for now.
