I was gifted this watch some years ago by my now ex. He said he believed it to be early 1930s but, thanks to this website, I now know it to be a 1948 model. I’ve yet to find an advert of the design so can’t say what the name of it is. He bought it from a small shop in New York. That’s pretty much all I can say about it.
If anyone has an ad for this watch I’d love to see it.
Welcome to myBulova! I am excited to see your watch, it is lovely. I have only seen these in rose/pink gold and think it is great to see your watch in white gold. This style was a cocktail watch and there are only a few ads for them. I do not believe I have seen one like yours. How many diamonds are on the case? Looks like five but would like to confirm that.
Here is something from the same line of watches which shows they most liekly had a model name. See the Mayflower reference.

Beautiful little watch Rose, thanks for sharing it. It is very close to the Mayflower but not quite a match. I'm not finding anything to match so far.
Thank you Admin, and thank you, Geoff.
I agree, it isn’t really like those in the ad as it has a metal snake chain rather than the cord chain. It does have 17 jewels and has a face almost exactly like the Mayflower. I haven’t seen anything with the expended sections where the bracelet attaches or anything with the diamonds as yet.
Welcome, and thanks for sharing!
I have been hunting but fail to come up with an ad to ID your little beauty. I agree with Kathy that it would be considered a "cocktail watch", but fail to find a name for her. It seems the higher end ladies watches didn't get as widely advertised as the "every man's & women's" more affordable watches. They had a pretty narrow customer base.
At this point I have to say
1948 Unknown..... sorry :o(
Tank you, Neetstuff. I’m inclined to agree with you. It seems most of the watches are aimed at the wider market. I haven’t seen any with diamonds on the case at all and only very few with the metal bracelet. I’d be interested to see what Kathy L has seen in the rose gold, especially if it might be in an advert.
As I’m in the UK, seeking (and finding) the kind of magazine or catalog where such a watch is advertised is more difficult.

Hi YorkshireRose, I messaged you a couple of links. I have only seen rose gold models for sale. Here are the ads I have seen. And the Mayflower Stephen already posted.

Thank you for adding the two extra images for me Kathy.
I’m hoping that, somehow, someone will recognise my watch or find an advert for it. It certainly looks like it’s on the more expensive end of the scale - which is nice :)

You are welcome : )
Yes they are some of my favorite watches from the 40s. Hopefully an ad will come up for it at some point so we can give her a name.
Panel - looks like we're going Unknown for this beauty?
