Case is a re-dial and a poor one at that. Bracelet looks to be original to watch and is marked HADLEY. Watch runs very well and will require one more adjustment to be right on time. Watch has been dis-assembled and cleaned and re-assembled and oiled. Numerals are raissed gilt and watch has no minute or hour track nor a seconds track. Hands are gilt modern.
John,
The Stainless Steel Caseback ("White Metal back") is an indicator of a Watch produced post 1940, 1948 pairs nicely with the Movement Dated 1947.

1948 'ARNOLD'
Thanks Mark.

1948 Arnold w/ a black redial?
Arnold, non-conforming. Ads show only white dial.

...at least the ad shows an engraved bezel :)
welp, the Dial been refinished but do We go down the Road of 'NON-CONFORMING' for Watches showing refinished Dials?
The vintage ads should be used as a guide, not Gospel - although unseen It's possible the 'ARNOLD' was offered with a Black Dial.
True Mark, but no evidence as yet, but it's good to get that possibility on record.
Ooops I hit the save button twice.
I am sure it is a re-dial and as I said in the posting, a VERY POOR job.
