This model has caused us many discussions as to its name. Here's a good lengthy discussion we had on this model which in the end we determined the best model name was a Bruce 'B" based on the mount and in particular the lack on a expansion/leather combo strap that was the correct mount for the Cadet "B", which we rulled out, leaving the Bruce "B".

1947 Bulova Bruce "B" is my ID.

Here's how we determined that:

All rose/coral gold, non-engraved versions.

1941+42+43 showing The Lieutenant on leather band

1942 advert with Ranger on bracelet

1942 advert with Cadet on expanding bracelet

1943 advert with Lieutenant on leather band

1943+44 showing Cadet "B" on expansion bracelet/leather combo

(ad has watches around the wrong way)

1946 adverts showing as Bruce "B" on expanding bracelet

1946 adverts showing Cadet "B" on expansion bracelet/leather combo

1947 advert with Bruce "B" on an expansion bracelet.

*************************************************************

1941+42+43 + expanding bracelet = Cadet

1941+42+43 + leather band = Lieutenant

1942+43 + bracelet = Ranger

1946-49 + expanding bracelet/ leather combo = Cadet

1946-47 + expanding bracelet =  Bruce

**************************************************************

Bruce "B" would be my call.

Correct me if I am wrong but it seems the ads show or describes the Cadet as having engraved sides on the case.  There are no ads until 1946 for the Bruce.   Based on the date of 1945 and no engraving this would be a Lieutenant.

To be clear the "1945" data is a total guess on my part as the watch owner.  The submission field forced me to pick a year.

Seems the movement has a 1945 movement, but the case has a serial starting with a 7, so 1947.

Jim, are you saying we rule out the Cadet? If so, then I'm in agreeance which is why I'm nominating the 1947 Bulova Bruce "B".

I think 1945/47 might be too late for the Lieutenant. Could be wrong.

Yes,  It appears the most ads I see show Cadet with engraved sides.
