The case back says Bulova 10k goldfilled and has a serial number at the bottom 7735731. The inside of the case back says Bulova watch co fifth Ave New York and has some handwritten cursive that I can't make out. The movement has the following writing: Bulova watch co, Swiss, seventeen jewels, 17,46, RS,AF, Unadjusted,. The wrist band is 10kRGF and says KREISLER USA
Welcome to myBulova! Thank you for adding the clearer photos. It does look like a Barbara to me. Does it have a two-tone case? Looks like the back and sides are yellow and the top is white but sometimes colors can be off. Looks like this model was around for most of the 40's.

I couldn't figure out how to just add the photos so I created a new post. The case is not 2 tone. It's solid yellow. I think it was just the way the light was hitting it.

Ok thank you for clarifying that. Yes the lighting can affect the color. This may still be a Barbara. It may have come it both variations. Will see if I can find an ad for the yellow version.

I'm sorry I misunderstood what you meant when you asked if the case was two tone. I thought you meant on the back of the case where the writing is. The front where the design is is two tones. It is silver an gold color.

Ok great : ) Barbara gets my vote then.
What does it mean when it says engraved case?

An engraved case is the etching or raised design on the case. In your watches case this is the X design that creates a diamond effect. As opposed to a plain case.
Case is not solid gold as indicated by 10K Gold Filled and looks to be a nice match for a 1947 Bulova Barbara.
Two tone will indicate both 10K white and yellow gold filled case elements.
1947 Barbara gets my vote, very nice little watch.
1947 Bulova Barbara - very nice watch!
